How can I supply my own documents to the community?

The Virtual Network supports many ways to supply documents. You can upload single documents. In order to do this you should proceed as follows:

  1. Select Documents in the top main menu and choose the desired folder.

  2. Select Create object in this folder in the context menu on the right.

  3. You are directed to the upload interace for a document. It contains these fields:

    Name

    Name of the document

    Description

    Here you can give a closer description of the document. This will allow members looking at your document to see what topics etc. it deals with.

    Preview

    Here you can enter an image that is displayed on the page of the document.

    Current version

    Here you select the document that you want to upload. Click on browse and select the document on your hard drive. Confirm by clicking open.

    Type

    Select the type of file of the document. Each document supports the option of creating a forum, a chat or a Wiki-text. In addition you also have the chance to create a forum, wiki or a chat without relation to a document.

  4. -Confrim your entries by clicking on create. The object is then created. You can now decide who has access to it. Find out more about this in the section about rights.

Alternatively you can upload several documents at the same time that are in a zipped file. To do this proceed as follows:

  1. Select the folder, in which you would like to place your documents.

  2. Select upload subjects as zip-file in the context menu on the right.

  3. Select browse to locate a zip-file on your hard-drive. Confirm this with create. A new sub-folder is now automatically generated by the platform, which contains all data from your zip-file.
