The Evian Group
Who we are
We are a coalition of corporate, government and opinion leaders; what unites us is our common interest in achieving our mission in the interest of enhancing global prosperity for the benefit of all and the greater prospect of peace. Our mission is to foster an open, inclusive, global market economy in a rules-based multilateral framework, with a focus on Asia– Europe economic relations.
Four Pillars
- Education
Offer input to educational programmes in explaining the dynamics of globalization and the benefits of the multilateral trading system, notably in the IMD MBA and executive programmes, and in many other institutions and forums, including in the annual symposium of the World Trade Organization (WTO). By providing data and material on the Evian Group website (eg the global governance hub). - Think Tank
With the Evian Group’s extensive network (‘Brains Trust’) of leading experts and practitioners throughout the world, the compilation of policy briefs, reports, and position papers. - Advocacy
Pressuring policy makers on the global economic agenda and providing them with intellectual ammunition in support of open trade and investment policies. - Forum for Dialogue
Through our annual Evian Group Plenary Meeting and other roundtable meetings convened in different parts of the world, through the Open World Initiative - a movement for the next generation of leaders - and our interactive website.
Business benefits from membership of the Evian Group through interaction with policy negotiators and decision makers; an enhanced understanding of the factors impacting national and international trade and how these affect business; and an opportunity to brainstorm on managing change, with business, government and opinion leaders.
Open World Initiative (OWI)
OWI is a network and movement of young professionals from diverse constituencies, continents and cultures who are committed to an open world economy, sustainable economic growth and human development. OWI supports open societies, greater integration and responsible governance on the global, national and corporate and institutional levels as indispensable to achieving these goals. You are invited to apply for membership. Please visit ‘activities’ on the Evian Group website.
